About Us
introductions
My journey into fishing began in childhood, spending countless hours float fishing with worms at a local pond.
At the age of 11, I was introduced to fly fishing. Learning the craft on a small stillwater fishery, I’ll never forget hooking my first rainbow trout, which hit a straightlined buzzer so hard it nearly pulled the rod from my hands.
From that moment, fly fishing became somewhat of an obsession.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to experience a wide range of fishing, from grayling on the River Test in winter to night fishing for sea trout on the River Tefi
Why FLYRUN
As I grew older, my family moved to mid-Wales, and much of my teenage years were spent fishing the rivers and lakes of the Elan Valley in search of wild trout and grayling. It was here that I developed a passion for fishing rivers.
When I first started fishing rivers it wasn’t always easy. My own learning curve was a fairly slow one, in the beginning I’d often blank more sessions than I’d catch. I know first hand how frustrating this is. But it was these experiences that ultimately fueled my desire to share knowledge and observations gained from my time on the water.
And so, FLYRUN was born. This platform is dedicated to providing valuable resources and guidance for anglers of all levels, whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned veteran. My hope is that through FLYRUN, I can help others make the most of their time on the water and experience the same joy and fulfillment that fishing has brought to my life.
